Royal Photographic Society and Competitions

Regardless of whether I have my Olympus or my Pixel on me, I always take photos and continuously focus (no pun intended) on the world around me. I love to snap what gets my attention and hope that viewers find it as interesting as I do.

There is still lots of room to learn more and after some consideration, I have decided to join the Royal Photographic Society (RPS).

As well as a large community of amateur and professional photographers, it’s also a society with a great history that provides training, insights, workshops and competitions.

I’ve joined and am busily digesting as much content as I can. I may consider trying to achieve affiliation but will need to work on my portfolio first I think.

Stop by the RPS to view my profile and further information.

Competitions are a great way to get your work out there and are also a great way to get feedback for your work.

I have entered a couple competitions this year and it’s always fun to find out how you did.

I thought I would share some entries with you.

The subject for the RPS Members September competition is Signs. This is the set of 5 photographs that I have submitted (competition closes at the end of September).

I think this is quite an eclectic mix of photos but as you are allowed to enter 5 photographs I thought might be worth entering a selection of different types.

The October RPS Members competition subject is People at Work and I am busy collating entries for that one 🙂

I intend to share my competition entries with you all in the future as I think it would be interesting to see what was submitted and whether any are successful (and to work out why!).
