It’s been a long weekend and I’m feeling much better after hurting my back a couple months ago, so no excuse not to try some running again.
Friday I went out for a loop around where we live, running and walking when I felt comfortable/uncomfortable.
Today I decided to try the Nike Run Club app to help me get back into my stride.
I’ve used it to create a new plan for me and today was my benchmark run.
I had to run 7 minutes steady, 3 minutes pushing as hard as I could and then the last 5 minutes cool down.
I did some walking in the warm up and cool down but pushed my way through the 3 minutes, harder than I have for a while.
Lots of effort to push through and the encouragement from the coach in app was interesting and worked well.
I’ll persevere with the plan to see how I get on.
I’ve been quite sore this weekend but that’s fair as I’ve not run since April.
Apart from the usual leg pain, my back has not been too bad but I’ll pace myself and keep and eye out for any twinges.
So far so good though….
